Bio

Michael Patrick Hamaway is a shareholder and head of the litigation department at Mombach, Boyle, Hardin & Simmons, P.A. He specializes in complex commercial litigation and has focused his practice on partnership and shareholder disputes.

Mr. Hamaway is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, Commercial Law Section and the Broward County Trial Lawyer’s Association. ” He is a member of the United States District Court for Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and is admitted to the 11th and 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Since 2004, Mr. Hamaway has handled in excess of 1,000 business litigation matters for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals alike. Mr. Hamaway has significant trial experience, having tried in excess of 50 trials – both jury and non-jury – to verdict or conclusion.

Mr. Hamaway also has an active appellate practice and has argued before the Third and Fourth District Court of Appeals, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit Court. His cases have resulted in numerous written decisions involving matters of significant importance to business and commercial lawyers throughout the State. These include: Hollywood Mobile Estates Ltd. v. Cypress, 415 Fed. Appx. 207 (11th Cir. 2011); Hollywood Mobile Estates Ltd. v. Hollywood Estates Independent Tenants Ass’n, Inc., 67 So.3d 1194 (Fla. 4th DCA 2011); Thunderboat Marina Center, Inc. v. Thunderboat Marina, Inc., 77 So.3d 193 (Fla. 4th DCA 2011); Hollywood Mobile Estates, Ltd. v. Seminole Tribe of Florida, 641 F.3d 1259 (11th Cir. 2011); GLK, L.P. v. Four Seasons Hotel, Ltd., 22 So.3d 635 (Fla. 3d DCA 2009); Shiver v. Wharton, 9 So.3d 687 (Fla. 4th DCA 2009); Acoustic Innovations, Inc. v. Schafer, 976 So.2d 1139 (Fla. 4th DCA 2008), cert. denied; Goodall v. Whispering Woods Center, L.L.C., 990 So.2d 695 (Fla. 4th DCA 2008); Wood v. Panton & Co. Realty, Inc., 950 So.2d 534 (Fla. 4th DCA 2007); Panton & Co. Realty, Inc. v. Wood, 958 So.2d 541 (Fla. 4th DCA 2007).
