Bio

Daniel Fetterman is a former federal prosecutor who is recognized as one of the country's leading trial and white collar lawyers. He represents corporations and individuals in significant securities, white collar, commercial, accounting and trade secret litigation.  He has conducted numerous internal investigations on behalf of corporations, boards, and special committees concerning alleged securities fraud, insider trading, FCPA violations, theft of trade secrets, accounting malfeasance and obstruction of justice.  Chambers USA describes him as a “fantastic courtroom lawyer” who is “very strategic” with “extensive expertise in complex litigation and white collar criminal defense.”

Dan has won numerous jury trials and argued appeals in federal and state courts, including a 17-month jury trial, the longest in Alabama history, which resulted in more than $100 million in jury verdicts, described in The Washington Post as a “huge victory” in a “landmark” lawsuit. He has represented MF Global Holdings in multiple enforcement investigations and an accounting malpractice action claiming more than $1 billion, Hilton Worldwide in civil litigation and a grand jury investigation relating to its alleged theft of trade secrets, the New York Jets in litigation over its attempt to build a stadium in Manhattan, and a consortium of private equity firms in funding their $8.5 billion acquisition of Home Depot Supply.

Before joining Kasowitz, Dan was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Dan also co-edited and co-authored a highly acclaimed white collar treatise, Defending Corporations and Individuals in Government Investigations. The treatise has been praised as a “must-have resource and reference for any lawyer involved in white collar matters.” Dan is frequently sought after as a legal authority and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, International Financing Review and the FCPA Report and Compliance Week.
