Russ Klingaman helps professionals and businesses effectively leverage opportunities, resolve disputes, and reduce risks. He works with his clients to find practical and effective solutions to legal challenges. His practice is primarily focused in the areas of aviation, intellectual property, and business litigation. He has handled many high-profile cases involving catastrophic personal injuries, major property damage, and very large business losses.

Aviation: As a licensed pilot, aircraft owner, adjunct professor of aviation law, and active member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association, Russ has unique insights into aviation-related legal matters, including those involving the fast-changing legal landscape concerning unmanned aerial systems (UAS or "drones"). He has helped many clients deal with very serious aviation accidents. He also deals with complicated Federal Aviation Administration regulatory compliance issues and/or enforcement actions.

Intellectual Property: Russ has a robust practice helping businesses and individuals protect their intellectual property — including trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, and patents. This work includes litigation and transactions. The litigation work often involves prosecuting or defending claims for damages and/or injunctive relief arising out alleged liability for claims such as misappropriation, infringement, breach of contract, and/or unfair competition. The transactional work encompasses projects such as licensing, assignments, and/or nondisclosure agreements.

Business Litigation: Russ has handled dozens of complex business disputes. He has successfully represented the interests of a wide range of businesses and people including airlines, architects, banks, construction companies, doctors, engineers, farmers, hospitals, insurance companies, inventors, lawyers, manufacturers, pharmacists, restaurants, retailers, software developers, and veterinarians. Successful representations have dealt with cases involving claims associated with, for example, computer equipment/software, construction/product defects, food labeling/processing, housing/employment discrimination, and real estate contracts.
