Bio

Andrew Spielberger, the son of a career United States Air Force Colonel and brother of a United States West Point graduate, was raised in a military environment on bases around the world. By the time he graduated from Tulane University in 1981 with a B.A. in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations, Mr. Spielberger had lived in Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. After graduating in 1985 from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law with an emphasis in International Law, Mr. Spielberger commenced his legal career at the Law Offices of Dummit & Agajanian in Los Angeles, California. While at the Dummit firm, in addition to his litigation practice representing doctors and hospitals in the medical malpractice field, Mr. Spielberger was assigned to head the Entertainment Law Division which he oversaw until departing to start his own law practice in 1987.

From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Spielberger conducted his own practice in the entertainment field which involved transactional activities including, but not limited to, the production and financing of foreign independent motion pictures, the representation of writers, producers and directors of motion pictures and his service as in-house counsel to a 12,000 seat outdoor music amphitheater. During this time period, Mr. Spielberger also provided independent contracting services to several insurance defense litigation firms. In 1993, Mr. Spielberger returned to a defense litigation oriented practice at the Law Offices of Joel F. Citron. From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Spielberger learned the inner workings of the insurance defense industry while working at the Citron Firm--an invaluable aid for the remainder of his practice.

In 1997 Mr. Spielberger accepted an offered position in the plaintiff’s civil litigation boutique law firm in Los Angeles and remained there through 2008. During his tenure at this office, Mr. Spielberger directly participated in all facets of a plaintiff’s civil litigation practice. Over the past decade, Mr. Spielberger has made hundreds of arguments before numerous California Superior Courts, the California Court of Appeal and the United States District Courts in various states throughout the nation.

In 2009, Mr. Spielberger and Daniel Balaban formed the law partnership of Balaban & Spielberger, LLP which engages in a plaintiffs civil litigation practice. Since its inception in 2009, Balaban & Spielberger, LLP has represented clients in business litigation matters as well as catastrophic personal injuries and has been involved in the resolution of cases involving millions of dollars.
