Bio

Andrew Sommerman is a highly experienced trial lawyer specializing in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and defective product cases. He is an advocate for victims who have suffered due to pharmaceutical drugs Xarelto, Yaz/Yasmin and others that have caused injury and death. In addition, Mr. Sommerman handles matters dealing with business fraud, audit malpractice, fiduciary litigation, and director and officer liability.

Mr. Sommerman is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He often instructs other personal injury and wrongful death attorneys in continuing legal education courses on matters ranging from product liability and medical malpractice to legal procedure and insurance law.

In addition to being rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Sommerman has received many other honors and awards from peers and various professional organizations alike. He was named one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators and Top Attorneys in North America in 2018 and 2019. He was also selected as a Texas Super Lawyer from 2013 through 2020. In 2017 and 2018, the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys named him one of their 10 Best Attorneys. D Magazine has listed him as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington, Mr. Sommerman earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law. He is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, the United States District courts for the Northern and Eastern districts of Texas, and the United States Supreme Court.
